April 2012- We started feeling that our family wasn't complete and started seriously considering adoption.
February 2013- We again discussed adopting and if that was a possibility for our family. We spent a few weeks in prayer and decided that we both felt God's calling in this!
Started researching adoption agency, applied to one and got accepted.
March-May 2013- We learned somethings about our adoption agency that we didn't agree with so the search began again to research agencies!
May 2013- We decided to go with Lifeline/West Sands! We applied and got accepted!
June-August 2013- Home Study!!
August 20 & 23 2013- 1st and 2nd Home Visit
August 23rd- All trainings and write ups complete. Just a few more documents left!
September 18, 2013- Home Study officially complete! Moving on to Immigration and Dossier!
September 20, 2013- I-600A mailed to USCIS this morning! This is the immigration form. It can take up to 90 days to be processed.
October 16, 2013- Biometric fingerprints taken at the Department of Homeland Security. Now just
waiting on our Immigration approval letter (and we have a few more small things to finish up for our Dossier).
October 28, 2013- Received our immigration approval letter (I-171H) in the mail!
October 30, 2013- Got all of our necessary forms notarized while at the Expedia Halloween party.
October 31, 2013- Mailed our Dossier to Lifeline to be reviewed!
December 10, 2013- Our Dossier was delivered to our Agency in Ethiopia! We are officially a waiting family!!!!

April 19, 2015- Our USCIS approval expired so the month of March was spent updating our Home Study and USCIS paperwork. So hopefully everything was updated by today!
May 1, 2015- No official new wait list numbers, but there were 2 referrals so we are at least at 82.
June 1, 2015- 80
July 1, 2015- 68
August 1, 2015- 62
September 1, 2015- 53
September 9, 2015- REFERRAL!!!
September 11, 2015- accepted referral, started on the referral packet documents and our dossier update that is due in December 2015.
September 19, 2015- Got referral packet and dossier documents notarized, Mailed referral packet to WS and payed referral fee. Now we wait for a letter from the orphanage and for the PAIR process to begin.
October 20, 2015- Our contract of adoption and other documents got to our agency and our I600 was filed with USCIS!
October 26, 2015- Our I-797C arrived, now we wait about a month before the orphan investigation can begin.
November 30, 2015- A request for more evidence came in the mail over Thanksgiving :(. Now we must wait for that to be fulfilled.
January 19, 2016- RFE fullfilled!
January 31, 2016- Received our Embassy email that our case had been submitted to US Embassy on January 23, 2016. Our orphan investigation can begin.
